A gentle reminder for every heart that feels far

As Ramadan approaches, many hearts begin to feel something. A little pull, a quiet heaviness, or a longing they can’t explain. Some feel ready. Others feel guilty for not being ready at all.

Maybe your Qur’an slipped away from you.
Maybe your salah became rushed.
Maybe months passed and you kept saying, “I’ll fix it soon.”

And now the blessed month is close, and you’re wondering if it’s too late to return.

It isn’t.

Allah never turns away a heart that comes back to Him. He says:

“O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy…”
Qur’an 39:53

This verse is for the ones who feel behind, inconsistent, or ashamed.

And the Prophet ﷺ reminded us of something deeply comforting. He said that when a servant comes toward Allah, even by a small amount, Allah comes toward them faster with greater mercy and love. – Bukhārī and Muslim

Ramadan has a way of waking the heart gently. It doesn’t ask you to arrive flawless; it simply invites you to arrive willing. Sometimes a return begins with one slow verse, a single “Astaghfirullah,” or just sitting quietly, realising how much you miss feeling close to Allah.

You don’t need a detailed plan right now.
You don’t need sudden motivation.
You don’t even need to feel fully ready.

You just need to turn back.

A quiet step can reshape your Ramadan. Your year. Your heart.

Every regret, every wish to do better, every heaviness you feel, these are signs that Allah is already pulling you toward Him. When He wants good for someone, He opens their chest to return. And if you feel that pull, it’s because He chose you.

So let this week be gentle. Let it be honest. Let it be a soft beginning. The ones who return right before Ramadan often experience the month in its sweetest form.
